When chewed, the special very elastic texture of Oral Bar Small Dog has a mild abrasive effect which breaks the biofilm (entangled bacteria) structure of dental plaque, helps remove tartar deposits and delays formation of new deposits.

Tartar Control

Sodium polyphosphate is a chelating agent that makes calcium ions (Ca++) unavailable for tartar formation. Because of its highly hydrophilic nature, polyphosphate can spread through the whole oral cavity, including areas that are not in physical contact with Oral Bar Small Dog during mastication. Zinc favours calcium dissolution and slows down its incorporation into tartar.

Bacteria Control

Bad breath is the result of bacteriaproduced Volatile Sulphur Compounds (V.S.C.). Because of their antibacterial properties, the active ingredients in Oral Bar Small Dog (zinc, eucalyptus and green tea polyphenols) help limit bacterial growth, reducing the production of Volatile Sulphur Compounds (V.S.C.).
