My overweight cat is not losing weight on Feline Health Nutrition Light 37™/My overweight dog is not losing weight on Canine Health Nutrition Maxi Weight Care 27™ or Mini Weight Care 30™. What should I do?

Take your pet to your veterinarian. He/she could be suffering from a hormonal problem such as a thyroid deficiency (for example), that could be causing excessive weight gain. Alternately, your pet may have an extremely low metabolic rate and may not be able to achieve weight loss on a regular diet.

Royal Canin offers veterinary therapeutic diets designed to help pets who are particularly resistant to weight loss lose weight. If your pet is not losing weight on Feline Health Nutrition Light 37™, Canine Health Nutrition Maxi Weight Care 27™ or Mini Weight Care 30™, please consult your veterinarian. Only he/she is in the best position to recommend a therapeutic diet that may help resolve the weight problem. Once the pet has achieved his or her ideal weight, it may be possible to feed one of the Weight Care diets once again.
